If you are a Spanish company, you can hire foreign executives for your company quickly and easily. Authorisations to hire highly qualified personnel authorise them to reside and work in Spain for a period of 3 years, which can be extended for a further 2 years.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to recruit foreign managers:

  • Holding the status of:
    • Director of companies (general manager and director of other departments)
    • Be part of the executive and legislative bodies and managers of the public administration.
    • Business Manager.
  • Have an employment contract of at least one year and a minimum salary of 40,500 euros gross per year.
  • Not have a criminal record in Spain and in the country of origin or in the countries in which he/she has resided during the last five years.
  • The company must demonstrate that it complies with its tax obligations and that it is financially sound.

Estimated time

The approximate time for the resolution of this procedure is 45 days.

This procedure entitles the manager to come to Spain with his or her close family members (spouse, common-law partner and children).
