Arraigo familiar is a type of temporary residence authorization in Spain granted to foreigners who have family ties with Spanish citizens.

Information on the procedure

In order to apply for arraigo familiar in Spain, the following requirements must be met:

Be a parent or guardian of a minor of Spanish nationality.
Be a person who provides support to a Spanish person with a disability.
Be the husband or accredited domestic partner of a Spanish citizen.
To be the father or mother over 65 years of age or under 65 years of age, or the dependent child under 21 years of age or over 21 years of age, of a Spanish citizen, or of his or her husband or common-law partner.
Be children of a father or mother who were originally Spanish.
No criminal record in Spain and in their previous countries of residence during the last five years.
Not to be prohibited from entering Spain.

The approximate time for the resolution of the request for arraigo familiar is three months from the filing of the application.

This procedure grants the right to reside and work in Spain.
